Based on past experience, I would go with a P245/40R18 Hoosier, or maybe even a P245/35 Hoosier - IF you are really serious.

Like LBJay said, some local regions run street tire class, for some of those, Michelin PS2 or Goodyear GS-D3's would do quite well.

I haven't read through them in a while, are you sure shocks are allowed, LB'? 9meg + on dialup sucks...
