I think this is a great idea! I'd love to have a Mallet conversion, but I don't have the money laying around for such an expensive upgrade. I'd like to see a conversion kit developed that I can do myself with a engine that can be easily procured from a number of places. Although, I'd probably wait 3 or 4 years until my warranty expires.

One of the things I like about this is balance. The 5.3 application adds a lot of hp and even more torque, but no so much that the engine or drive line is overstressed. Hum, deep rumble, gobs of torque, and reliability and economy, sound like a winning package.

What about the transmission? How hard is it to mate the 5.3 to the existing transmissions? Or would it be better to use the future 6L80 6-speed read drive manumatic transmission?

OK all you entrepreneurs, I encourage you to get started on a conversion kit ASAP!
