Congratulations on your new GXP!
I enjoyed reading your thorough review. You brought up a lot of points that I am sure will get pleny of responses.
Your driving style sounds a lot like mine. Yes, I want a fine handling car, but I just don't find myself driving on twisty roads very often. Due to practicatily, I want my fine handling car to empasize comfort on interstate highways, because that is where I am stuck most of the time.
I loved your reference to driving through European villages, which reflects perfectly why the British hate our cars. They simply don't understand that we have very, very few regions like that. Most of us live in crowded urban centers surrounded by flat-land. TMost of those lucky enough not to live in hilly, mounainous areas with fun roads still are on roads that are very safe, wide open, with long easy curves for the most part. Even in the mountains. You perfectly nailed the difference between the average driving environment between the British and many Europeans vs. Americans.
Great, detailed review. I felt exactly how much you like the car.
