Austin Healey. A favorite of mine. Such a beautiful car!

I really enjoy knowing that a number of us share the experience of the original British sports cars that the Solstice is modeled after. We can laugh off silly comparisons like ease of top operation, since we know that early tops did not even fold down, but actually had to be removed and put into the trunk. We're happy to have windows, let alone power windows, so who cares where the switches are? Trunks hauled a spare tire at a time when tires failed with some frequency, the top, and that tool box you would be foolish to leave at home. Leaks were part of the experience. I have always associated the combined scents of oil, gasoline, and leather as defining MGB.

The Back Massage caught me off guard until I remembered the monsoon bass is back there. Cute. I tell my wife that it's an ejection seat. We too have hunkered down behind the windscreen when stopping for the top exercise would have only got us soaked!

I started this thread about my new GXP. I appreciate those who have responded with their shared British roadster experiences.

This has been no hi jack. This has been enriched.

Thanks!
Dean
