Well the original 61-65 TR4's all had body painted windshield trim. When they went to the TR250/TR6's, they painted ALL windshield frames Black, matching the rear Karman panel & a cost savings. They made 40,000 TR4's and then 70,000 TR6's.

I personally like the soft silver around the windshield and the tulip panel. Just a class touch and 'understated elegance' to my Sly soon to be classic colour I hear above.
