Sounds like a whole bunch of engine swappers out there!
I generally modify what is in there (as with my 3.2 Fiero) but I did just finish a 3.4 1957 MG with custom body. I felt that the Camaro engine was adequate for a 2000 lb. car (equivalent to 300 BHP in your Sol or Fiero, and didn't want to go overboard.
And of course I could always turbo the 3.4 (even if the turbo would have to live by the back axle....) if I felt I was in need of more power!
BTW, I second Archie as having an unblemished record in the Fiero world.
