I'm gonna split this discussion out of here, since it really doesn't have anything to do with the subject

just check classic carriers website "Through optimal pressure distribution on the trunklid, the carrying capacity permitted is 35Kg max., slightly over U.S. 75 lbs." This is based on their generic stainless steel rack....however..if you look at the Solstice rack install instructions on the site you see this one:

"Through optimal pressure distribution on the trunk lid the carrying capacity is 50 lbs maximum
."
