wax lasts about 1 month, sealant is a chemical process that bonds to the paint and lasts about 6 months.
Wax is older technology,
But some people swear by wax and some swear by sealant. So take your pick. Also you can be like gondef and use sealant and then wax over it.
You really can not go wrong. Just try different things and see what you like. Everything is a mater of opinion. Also dark cars and light cars respond differently.
Do a google search on car detailing and start reading and you will know everything you need to know but will still have to just see what you like.
