Remember, the owner's manual says 87 octane is okay, but 91 is recommended for optimum performance.
So the car's ECM should be able to compensate for any knocking caused by the 87 otcane. But it may take a few tanks of premium for it to readjust back to the higher performing settings.
I'm sure one tankful won't cause any permanent damage, just a possible small drop in performance until you run enough premium through it.
