I can answer question #1. The answer is "Yes", it can bolt up to the stock drivetrain.

Apparently the LS4 has the GM 60 degree bolt pattern on the back.

Believe it or not, a 96 and later 2.5L bellhousing from a Dodge Dakota pickup will mate the LS4 to your Solstice MA5 5-speed.

Not perfect (the starter is on the opposite side) but it's a start...
