Oh for Crying out loud.
Guys, I've ran HKS' on my builds. I've got on on my supra.
But people with stock 1.8ts, and 6 psi civics with primer run em too when a $9 Junkyard DSM recirc valve would do the job better than the HKS.
When people buy stuff for the sound. And those things go on ****ty cars. Then the product could be used for as a ricey modification. Period.
Kindof how book shelf wings are useful on some grip events, people throw em on their car. Rice.
Adding 2 extra sets of fogs on a stock impreza 2.5 NA because you saw it on a rally Rex = ricey.
I'm not saying the SSQV IS ricey, just that it can have that ricey sound to others. So if you cared what others thought about it, you might want to stay away from it.
I can point you to 100 other message forums that would argue with you all, and tell you the HKS is garbage and ricey.
I don't think it is, thats why I suggested it, it doesn't pull in unmetered air, its a good product.
Although your wrong, the adjustable ones WERE meant to be adjustable, thats why somone spent the EXTRA time into R&Ding the fuction to make it functional. Yes people loosened it too much causing the assembly to fall apart, or tighten it too much and stripping it, so for ease of manufacturing, and warranty I can see them eliminating the adjustability.
I actually liked the adjustability as the SSQV can actually induce a brief second of compressor surge in some low, and some high boost situations.
I know we had that happen on our Turbo GTP before we adjusted it, and I have it for a split second on my Supra until it was adjusted.
