Just got off the phone with my GM service rep at my dealer. He asked me for the last 8 digits of my VIN. Sounded like he was looking at a computer screen, and he read off exactly what MyGMLink states for the pinion seal replacement "CARRIER ASSEMBLY (COMPLETE) - REAR DIFFERENTIAL - REPLACE, INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL HOSE AND VENT (PONTIAC, SATURN)" I had done back on Oct 1, '07. I asked him if that was done per the recall letter, and he said it should be the same. At no time did he ask what the recall # was. I asked if the parts were the same, and he said he didn't know, but assumed they were. He asked me if I had any spots on my garagege floor in the area of the rear axle. I told him no, not since the replacement. He suggested If that were the case, wait until I got the recall letter, and he'd know for sure by then if it was different than what they had done in October, and if I had any leaks prior to receiving the letter, just bring the car in and they'd take care of it. So as soon as I receive the recall letter, I'm calling back.
