Just got my car back from the dealership. They planned on keeping it a few hours, but had it all day. Spoke to service manager, he told me that when I spoke to him on Friday and gave him my VIN # he called GM and they showed no recall for the car. After I gave him the recall paperwork (downloaded from here:
http://www.nhtsa.gov/). He stated he called again after receiving the paperwork, verified the recall, gave them my VIN # and entered my car as being scheduled for the work.
the rest is history!
Took all day though; Seems they had to order in the parts necessary, then they told me they had to remove the exhaust sytem and the rear end (not sure if removed entire rear end or not). Saw it up on the lift at 2pm and it was there until 6pm.
I also had them change out the engine oil, rotate tires and look for an elusive sound coming from the passenger door (sound made when you hit bumps) which they apparently could not find. Guess I'll squirrel it out myself when the weather warms a bit.
I had no issues with rear end prior to all of this, cross your fingers I don't have any now!!!!!
Only complaint is that they left greasy prints on Norma Jean.
I guess that menas Norma Jean has been felt up & lubed by a man with greasy fingers!!
