Honestly, I don't know why they just won't replace or fix whatever the problem is. But I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and what had been done to fix it.
I'm getting:
P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Malfunction
and
P2637 Torque Management Feedback Signal “A”
First off, ignore the P0700. That code means that the transmission control module asked for the MIL (SES) light ot be turned on.
When the P2637 code is set the transmission will change operation.
Quote:
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• The TCM requests the ECM to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) during the second consecutive trip in which the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met.
• The TCM turns off the pressure control solenoid. When the pressure control solenoid is off, line pressure is at maximum.
• The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions.
• The TCM inhibits Autograde braking and shift stabilization.
• At the time of the first failure, the TCM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The TCM stores this information as a Failure Record.
• At the time of the second failure, the ECM records the operating conditions when the Conditions for Setting the DTC are met. The ECM stores this information as a Freeze Frame.
• The TCM stores DTC P2637 in TCM history.
So that will give you the bad behavior you noted.
Is the transmission still acting up after the dealership looked at it?
The diagnostic procedure for P2637 looks fairly simple. Clear the code and see if it returns. If it does replace the TCM. If it doesn't check for loose wire and return it.
From your basic story line, that appears to be what happened.
