Also, how would I go about getting a tune from you? Thanks!

Torque management on it's own is very effective at reducing the engines torque output below 4,000rpms. It reduces the maximum torque output to around 80-130 lb/ft depending on rpms. It also reduces torque output between shifts. Most people who have it disabled on the manuals will notice that they are now able to chirp gears that they were not able to previously, and the car wants to get up and go from a dead stop without that sluggish roll that it previously had.

Right now because of not being able to access the TCM for the autos, you are right....I can't eliminate all management for you, so you will still be limited by the transmission abuse mode. In the near future we will have access to the TCM controls, at which time I will be doing a number of things:

1. Raising Maximum Shift Psi
2. Increasing the applied shift psi throughout each shift
3. Adding "Performance Shift" mode that will be accessed automatically at 100% throttle.

The Performance shift feature will allow normal driving conditions to remain nearly identical to stock, with the exception of a small increase in shift firmness, but when accessing the performance shift mode these features will change.

1. Raising shift rpm to meet new power-band (This will also make the car shift out of gear at higher speeds than before)
2. Reduce predicted shift times from ~1 second, down to 1/4 second.
3. Raising shift firmness even more during full throttle shifts.
4. Removing Abuse Mode controls
5. Allow transmission to down-shift more aggressively than before. In some cases where the car use to only downshift 1 gear, it will now downshift 2 gears to eliminate the bog or hesitation from a less than ideal downshift/gear selection.
6. Reduce downshift delay time to make transmission downshift sooner than before.

In my experience with the 2.4L Cobalts with Automatics, I was able to reduce their 1/4 mile time by 1.4 seconds.

With the manual transmission Cobalts and Solstice we have made consistent 0.3 second improvements in the 1/4 mile. So as you can see, the transmission tune alone is worth approximately 1.1 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

Now to answer you last question: You can get a tune from me by attending one of our National or Regional meets, by having your local chapter gather enough Kappas for group tuning packages, or by mail order (though this requires downtime due to shipping of the ECU/TCM)
