Dropped the car off at the dealer on Friday. Got it back Friday. Still had the same exact problems on Friday.
Here is the story:
Took the car in on Friday at 10:00, at 2:00 that day I get a phone call telling me that they "think" it has something to do with my cold air intake. Besides the p2637 I am also now getting a P0171. Since I elected to put a breather on my air inlet rather than connect back into my air intake, I thought that they might be on to something.
I guess having it that way for 4 months and having the car working just fine meant nothing to them. Then they also tried to hint my shorty header from clear image might be causing it as well. I told them it had been happening before I put the header on.
I knew I was in trouble when the service guy said that the MAF needed to read the air coming out of the air inlet. It was painfully evident that he wasn't looking at the same picture of the stock intake system I was looking at since the the air inlet comes after the MAF on the intake system. But okay, fine. I took the car home, drilled a hole for the air inlet, inserted a rubber grommet and hose barb and reconnected the air inlet tube, same problem.
Unplugged the ECM and let it sit overnight, same problem. Cleaned the MAF, same problem. I am still getting P0171 and P0700 and P2637.
Why do dealers always point their fingers at after market parts. It's like there is a section in the training manual that says "If you don't know what the problem is, hope you get lucky and they have installed something after market." I almost think that they would attempt to blame this on my air freshener if they thought they could get away with it.
