Hello,
My car has been running pretty bad lately. Sometimes there is good power, sometimes not. I wasn't sure what the problem was and I tried everything, including tightening the turbo clamps (which were really loose). Nothing helped resolve the lethargic feeling in the car.
I did the BOV rod mod a while back and then reverted the car back to stock. So what I did was remove the heat shield and what do you know, the inside nut is loose! The outside nut is also only hand tight. I figured from all the vibrations and rattling, the nuts worked themselves loose. I re-tightened them at factory stock positions.
After that, the car ran like it was reinvigorated! The pep is back and there is much more pick-up.
So the moral of the story:
"Please check your nuts every so often if you have ever tinkered with the BOV rod mod. "
Thank goodness I didn't bring it to the dealership for them to look into this. I could have screwed up my warranty!
