After we leave chicago area..(i.e. once we are on 80-only) we look for a Statie...flag him down..tell him we are going to Denver in a convoy...but don't want to break any speed laws...ask him if he'll escort us at a rate of speed acceptable to all of us...He'll lead us west bound and radio on ahead and pass us off to the next guy. It'll be fun and i'll betcha the Statie will not only love it...but they'll jack it up to about 80 as more cars join us.

We'll be ok. Speed limit in Iowa is 70. So we'll have about 4-1/2 to 5 hrs at 70. Speed limit in Nebraska and Colorado is 75.
