Even if the PAL worked correctly with XM my problem would be what good would PAL be given the inability to view the screen very well with a bright sunny sky and the top down. Before I switched to an aftermarket head unit it was impossible or near impossible to view the radio screen in bright So Cal sunlight.

Possibly GM has corrected this issue with the '08 model black tie radio but it is sure was a real problem with my '07 model.
