I think that the concept is great, and if the price comes down a bit I will jump at the chance to have an electric car.
The thing about AMP that feels a little slimy is the 300-car countdown, a year before they have even suggested they will deliver a product. A week ago (I haven't looked since) there were only 224 slots left, suggesting that 76 people in the Cincinnati area had placed, or were going to place, a $10,000 deposit on an electric Sky. That does not seem very reasonable to me given the lack of an operating prototype.
They also state that Saturn will be their exclusive platform when they add an SUV and a sedan because they have developed the technology to communicate with Saturn's control systems. Since Saturn uses standard GM components, that statement makes even less sense to me. Maybe I am missing something.
I hope that AMP starts delivering cars next year, by which time I may regret missing an opportunity to have one of them.
