The Driver/Owner just happened to be walking out and popped the rear lid as we pulled up side it. We were unfortunatly in our suburban at the time. I jumped out and said "where did you get that top from?". He then anounced that it is the 2009 Coupe. I introduced myself and threw in a MKC plug. He is a fuel economy specialist for GM. He lives just outside of town. He has been working the Solstice motors since the begining.
I am sure it has been mentioned but a couple of observations Not much room gained in the rear but there is some. The current space at the far rear of the trunk is covered a bit and is actually harder to reach. I was impressed that the top was removable similar to a Del Sol set up but when removed it will not fit in the rear section so it is either on or off when you leave home and that is how it stay's till you get home. He did say they are working on an optional insert that would make last minute on or off use doable at some point. THe funny thing I noticed is that directly behind each seat in what on our cars would be the silver strip across the humps (which are gone in this model) there are two drop in storage pokets about 4"x6" and believe it or not have a rounded base as if to be an incorporated cup holder. Yes that's right. A cup holder behind the headrests. Odd and the guy I met didn't even realize they were like that til I pointed them out. My thoughts is it would be a good spot for two 4X6 speakers to replace the chincy ones behind the seat.
Anyway I thought it was cool but still not totaly sold on my getting one.
Thought I'd share,
Enjoy
