There is no frame cutting involved, the stock springs are just fine, the stock rear end and half shafts (axles) are fine as well. The driveshaft does need to replaced. Heat hasn't been a problem for me, I've been in standing traffic at 90+ so far without an issue.
Also, modding the ecotec to produce 400+hp and 400+lb/ft would cost a significant amount and would not be as reliable as a stock LS V8. The weight gain is relatively minimal as well.

I would use an all aluminum block to keep the weight down. For the money you could build a 400hp 4l and keep the car almost stock. I was watching a old Bonavill salts flats speed tv and they had an ecotech with 800hp going well over 200mph in a saturn a world record at the time. so these motor cab pump out alot of hp.
