Push button starters are pretty common in the after-market for a lot of vehicles and i don't see how it would differ much with ours.

how do our 'chips' work? RFID? they are pretty weak so i'd keep that within range and wire a longer-range RFID receiver to the button with the transmitter in the fob. I'm sure there are kits on the market that take care of the need for a security key.

Thought I'd mention that our chips are in no way RFID. The chip in our keys is magnetic, and our lock/unlock FOB is a standard wireless transmission system.

RFID is only used to identify an object, not to send signals.
