The C6 & C5 have the same driveline setup. Front engine to a "torque tube"(manual has the clutch at the engine, auto has a flex plate there)then the tranmission in the rear(auto has torque converter here). The transmission(4L60/80e or T-56)does not have a tail shaft, it has 12" splined output shaft that slides in the getrag diff, and is bolt directly together.
The only T-56's that will work in the Kappa's are from the SSR(this is what was in the concept, and the Hot Rod Solstice), the 98+ F-body's, and the GTO's. All will need an adapter ring/new bellhousing.
