If you don't have a tab, make one. If its alreadt tearing the top patch it. Then add the dielectric grease but not where small dealer quotes the official GM fix. The wear area is inward about an inch & about 6-7 in. long ( not the plastic boneing strip)
Dielectric grease is available at hardware stores,auto parts & electronic supply stores such as Radio shack.
