I have the seat repair done and firstly WOW, what a diference. It made the long drive home really enjoyable. I do not know if 2008 solstice have the same problem as GM has changed the seat several times. I know this because there were diferences in a couple of the seats from different times of manufacture. Basically all that we saw had the same problem.

Evidence is a significant ripple in the center of the seat but the really problem is an increasingly sinking feeling each time you seat in the seat and seemingly getting lower and lower as time passes by. I origninally thought I was getting shorter (Remember I am so short that on my drivers license picture you can see my feet), but alas the seat was sinking. After taking the seat apart, not really hard if you follow JPM pictures, you can see the problem. The foam is of less than optimum density (This is just my opinion when compared to the foam used to repair the seat otherwords if there is a GM lawyer please go away you have done enough damage). The more important problem is they just carved out the middle of this not very dense foam to make a spot for a rear end. This left the foam even more compressable. The fix was to layer succesively three layers of some white kind of foam plus one of some black foam over the depression carved in the seat. Each layer had to be glued done with 3m spray adhessive and the edges skived smooth (so there was no edge) This was done by sanding (looked like lots of fake snow). The whole thing was then covered with the soft black foam and the seat was put back together.

After the fix, the wrinkles were better but not gone however the sinking feeling was gone forever. The seat was very comfortable and I would not hesitate to have this done.

By the way, Waterlilly, the urge to wash you car everyday and not put miles on it and park it far away is definately normal. We were all there. But driving is so much fun eventually you will just say "Oh Well" and crank on the miles.
