I have a 2008 GXP with the monsoon setup, 6 cd changer and xm radio. I'm trying to figure out how I can play MP3 files on the radio using the CDROM.
I burned a CD with a bunch of MP3 files and placed it in the cd player. I get an error message on the radio. But if I use the same brand cd and create an "audio" cd rom... it works fine.
Is there a special format for the MP3 files? Or something I'm missing?
I'm assuming I HAVE the mp3 capabilities in this stereo...am I wonrg? How can I tell?
Thanks.

What application are you using to burn the MP3 CD? Have you checked to make sure that your firmware and application for the burner are up to date? The standards change fairley frequently and I have had plenty of times when a CD burned on one burner would not play while the same data burned on a different drive worked just fine. The difference was the currency of the software and firmware.
I have micro IPODS that cost almost nothing right now and will act as a 150 song play list.
