Some good info on ECM Tune please...
Hi to all. I have been on and off the forum for a little while now, and have read about many tunes available for our vehicles. I have done a fair amount of work to my '07 GXP, but have had issues with the first tune I had, which consequently, had nothing at all to do with the tune. The problems stemmed from a very poorly made CAI produced by one of the vendors on this site. I had returned the tune after many attempts to correct the issues, then found out when I removed the CAI in question, things came back to life.
Anyway, I purchased a brand new ECM so that I could have a tune while still keeping my original computer in case something came up where I needed to reinstall the original ECM. I sent that new ECM to one of our more established tuners close to three months ago, but have not received it back yet. I am now trying to make the decision on whether to hold out a little longer, or maybe try the GM tune. I don't know who else is doing good work in the area of tunes here, but maybe someone could pass on some good info on who is doing what and how those tunes are working out. I know the GM tune might not have the custom tweeks others may offer, but wondering how that tune is performing for those who have it. I can install the parts myself, and I have a great dealership who will do the flash for me. I don't drive the car a lot lately due to my work schedule, but I still enjoy a car that can bring a smile to my face when I am driving. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Happy motoring and thanks for your input.
Cheers,
Howster
