It looks like G.M. will stop producing the Impala SS in 2015 so far they have only sold 2166 and in 2017 they will stop producing the Australian Holden which this car is based on . I looked at one when my local dealer had one in his showroom ,had an itch to get a 96 SS a couple of years ago, then I looked at the sticker and talk about shock the car was 46 thousand and change ! I know you can't turn back time but I remember when you could get a high performance car without all the bells and whistles for a decent at the time price ie: 5.0 Mustang LX ,396/427 Bel Air ,Roadrunner, etc. It's a shame the big 3 don't offer packages like this anymore , except the Police Equipment stuff, I really think there is a market for this type of car .
As many of you know I follow the auctions especially when it comes to Kappas and muscle cars so I had to read this twice . Burt Reynold's 77 Trans Am the one that the studio gave him after the Bandit movie just sold at auction in Vegas for $480000.00 UNBELIEVABLE ! The auction house estimated that the car would go somewhere around 80 grand man is somebody going to take a bath if they ever go to sell it were not talking Carol Shelby or Steve McQueen or even Jim Garner here .
