SCCA T2 National Champion 2010 and 2011

Press release:

"Though many believe the days of driving – rather than towing - a Touring or Showroom Stock car to the track for an SCCA National are long gone, Joey Wang-Defilippis drove more than five hours from his Fort Lee, N.J. home to finish on the podium in Touring 2, dragging a small trailer of BFGoodrich Tires behind him. His lap times in the No. 51 Mitsubishi Evolution weren’t quite as quick as winner Marty Grand’s No. 34 UCS Performance/Hoosier Pontiac Solstice, but was quick enough for a third place finish in the class. The reality is, no one has gone as fast as Grand’s machine, which set a new track record with a lap of 1:22.228."

I hope it's okay for me to post this; I have no financial interest in this car at all. I just hate to see a Solstice which sits unused.

This was my car until last October, when I traded it in. This particular GXP was special ordered with the Z0K sport suspension package and nothing else (in particular, no A/C, which is probably why it sits unbought, but might be a plus to someone wanting an autocross or track car). Meticulously maintained and fairly low mileage.

The dealer has apparently been sitting on the car for 5+ months; they'd likely be willing to negotiate on price.
I was told by some relatives and friends it looked better with the chrome wheels it used to have. I mean i like how the chrome looks but black seems more edgy. But what do you think? if any one has pics feel free to post would like to see other cars as well any color would be fine.(sol color)

Here are some Bi-Xenon Projectors I did for a client in Texas.
2009 Pontiac Solstice
Wicked Stock Paint color (red-ish metallic)

Brand New FX-R Hybrid Bi-Xenon Projectors (Version 3.0)
Internals Modified and Painted to give off a red demon eye when not lit
Morimoto 6000k 35 watt HID Bulbs
Morimoto 35 watt Ballasts
Morimoto Dual CCFL Halo Accent Lights
Custom H13 Bi-Xenon Heavy Duty Harness with Morimoto Relays

This was a custom project, where there was a lot of back-n-forth communication with the client to get this just right. We originally painted these ALL Wicked Red to see what it looked like (see Corvette headlights). They turned out great, but after looking at them with the client, we decided to break it up a bit and paint the stock reflector black….and that did it….perfect! Another thing on this one was that he wanted dual accent lights in there somehow…whether that was going to be just CCFLs, LEDs or combination of the two. We finally decided on Dual White CCFL lighting accents, one placed behind the shroud to give it the ‘Iron Man’ look and another one mounted just behind the Shrouds outer lip, so that it gives off a nice back lit circle.
The lenses on these things were bad when I received them. Not horrible, but as with ALL Solstice lights nowadays, you think they are fine because chrome hides a lot, but as soon as you paint the chrome ANY color, the flaws POP….and this one had internal and external blemishes and dings. My painter worked them over for a few hours and cleared them up the best he could. Muuuch better than they were before; so client will be happy with that. All in all, this was a great project….

Was at my local ex pontiac dealer Saturday for a car show and decided to go to service to get a price on tires for my other car. I was talking to the service manager when one of the service tech asked her about doing a oil change on a solstice gxp. He said to her the cap said that it takes mobil 1 oil and if he should use it. She said that they were not going to use that. He said are we just going to use the generic oil. I told him I own a solstice and that I would use the Mobil 1. Than she told him I will talk to you later about it. I don't think see like my input about it. I don't know why if the factory put it on the cap you would not use it. That is just one more reason for me to not take my cars there for service.
