As many of you know a while back we installed a Nitrous Express kit in my Solstice. We just put the first part of a two part article up on the site. Have fun and let me know if you have any questions.

Anybody who has been interested in auto-racing has probably heard a lot of talk about Nitrous. To some it may seem like something incredibly dangerous, and to others it may be the most exciting modification they own. It is true that there are some dangers to using Nitrous Oxide systems, but in reality it should be no more dangerous than any other type of power adder, such as a Turbo or Supercharger. Learning more about Nitrous Oxide Injection will help you decide if this is something worth considering, but at the very least it might be fun to learn a little more about it either way so you can keep up your side of a conversation if one ever arises.

that's a great read for someone like me who is only learning this information because I bought this car

thanx

after reading the article it seems to me a wet nitrous setup would be more cost effective then a turbo or supercharger and as you say, the added power shouldn't affect maintenance more then a turbo.

once again thanx for the article

Remember a Nitrous kit is not a permanent solution for adding HP, it’s meant to be used in short burst on the ¼ mile track. I have also used it on the straight-aways while racing, not as effective as a turbo or supercharger but definitely better than nothing at all.

We've gone up to 100hp shot but our best time was run on a 75hp shot. We ran a 14.38 in the ¼ , you can’t run over a 75HP shot safely in the Solstice because anything larger drains the fuel rail and drops fuel pressure….in short the car leans out.

We have the final installment of the Nitrous Express Articles going up this week. It covers the actual install in our Solstice…Stay Tuned!
