   Why I joined GM Roadster

Why I joined GM Roadster (in no particular order):
  • I know and trust the principals.
  • They assist in the establishment of local clubs. (I enjoy a strong local club and think local clubs are a great thing.)
  • Great discounts.

DHH,

Thank you for your support! Since we first conceived the thought of putting together a structured worldwide club for the enthusiast community, the goal has always been (and always will be) to support any and all clubs and events whether local, regional or national. We have always considered ourselves as a support entity, and we have no desire to control any aspect of this community. We feel the more people who get together the stronger the community will be.

Part of our commitment is to support community members with their endeavors. We receive dozens of emails & phone calls weekly asking for everything from advice on aftermarket parts to help with dealership issues. We do our best to make each and every person feel like they not only have someone to lean on but that they are truly part of a larger family of enthusiasts.

Our Charter Membership is $36 and many of our members have already saved their first year dues 10 times over. We feel great when we are able to accomplish this for members of this community!

Martin

I wanted a club in my area but had no idea how to start one. I need help to get it started. I joined GM roadster because I wanted more then just lip service. I wanted an organization that had strong support for our local club. GM Roadster has provided that and more. For only $36.00 per year, part of which is returned to the local club, we get the following.

A local club web site and help to maintain that web site. Any time I have had a question about the site I have received and immediate answer.

We get business cards to announce the club to other Sol and Sky owners.

We receive discounts on after market products for our cars and installation help that is only a phone call away.

I joined GM Roadster because I wanted to be part of the Kappa community. When I decided to form a roadster club here in the Tampa Bay area they were helpful with suggestions and setting up the website Tampa FL Saturn Sky Pontiac Solstice Club - Home. They have done everything I've asked and made me and the rest of the club welcome. We're glad to be a part.

I joined after looking for a national club that would support our club and had similar goals. I looked around at a regional club, but there was not much support due to distance and different goals.

Everyone at GM Roadster has been absolutely positive, supportive and informative.

Martin installed my HID's at Nationals. I have since bought Fog HID's which I installed myself and have helped install a fellow PNWR members headlight and fog HID's.

Here is an example of their customer service. Fellow club member ordered the 2 sets of HID's. Martin sent us all the wiring, pre-cut, spliced. All we really had to do was follow the detailed instructions and a little soldering and we were in business.

The HID did not come with the set pre-wired, I know my first set didn't have it. Martin or one of his people wired it to assist us.

We now have business cards, and are working on getting a banner to hang during car shows and magnetic PNWR signs for lead car for our runs.

Best $36 dollars I've ever spent.

Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. It's simple economics to me. If you pay for a service, you get a service. I don't really understand what everyone's problem is with GM roadster, and it's never really been explained.

Guess every one decided to jump on the NASSOA bandwagon, to each their own I suppose.

Sorry, I didn't mean to assume that you were female. I apologize.

But, would you care to explain some of these practices you've seen. It would be nice to know why there is such animosity toward GM roadster.

And it might give the organizers of GM Roadster a chance to dispel any misconceptions that might be floating around in the greater Solstice community.

I don't understand what you mean by there being room for only "one". I've seen several posts from the organizers of GM Roadster actually congratulating the people that formed the NASSOA. The posts I've read have very complimentary toward other organizations. Unlike quite a few posts I've read from members on the NASSOA side which have been somewhat hostile with little or no actual explanation as to why they dislike GM Roadster.

So, if you or anyone else would care to enlighten us I would be interested to read your explanations.

Okay, so let me see if I have this right. Instead of actually posting an answer to my several requests for clarification, you've attacked my post instead?

Let me clarify what I said so you will better grasp what I was trying to say. You stated that there should be room for more than one, on this point you and I agree. But your post implies that GM Roadster does not want there to be more than one Solstice organization in the community. And as I stated in my previous post, based upon past posts from GM Roadster in regard to other organizations nothing could be further from the truth.

So in my habit of assuming things, would it be safe to assume that you don't have an answer to my questions aside from vague accusations?

Honestly, before I gave GM Roadster my hard earned money I looked all over these forums to find some tangible answer as to why I shouldn't do so. And I never found a real reason for some of the opinions expressed by the Solstice community with regard to GM Roadster. Since you've taken it upon yourself to post a negative comment on GM Roadsters section of the forums, I felt you might be able to give me a better explanation as to why there seems to be so much animosity for this particular organization. However, you have failed to do so, and you have failed to give the organizers of GM Roadster a chance to rebut any misconception that may exist in the greater Solstice community and have instead chosen to nit pick my post without giving a logical answer to my requests.

So perhaps it is better that you have chosen to "give up" rather than post a real answer, since apparently you have none.
