I said 3 hours, but it might have been more. I like to take things slowly when I work on my cars. I put a John Lee Hooker disc (or a Hound Dog Taylor one) and have a good time, every time.
I thought I was going to have to do the same in my garage. Then I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone - visit mom for Mother's Day and visit my father's lift to install the new Race version of the brace. Wow! What a difference the right tools make. I drove the car up on the lift, lifted the car and in about 15 minutes it was done. Took the two bolts off the exhaust, slide the tool tray from the lift under the exhaust to hold it up. Then it was just a matter of using the air ratchet to remove those long bolts and install the new brace. Simple!

I must say though, with all the glowing reviews, I was expecting something great out of this brace. In all honesty, I really didn't notice much difference. Like the way to my parent's, I drove RT206 from Roscoe to Masonville, NY fairly hard the entire way. This road is fairly twisty and quite hilly. The car took the road very nicely both with and without the new brace. I really didn’t feel much difference. Perhaps it is because the car is new and just turned 2k on the OD. At any rate, there is no doubt it is stronger than stock.

Since in my case I had both the ProBeam and the BackBone done my experience is quite different from yours.
The suspension on my 2007 GXP is now as good as the ZOK.
I did my test on the same track and with the above products the car can take the same turns at a higher speeds. The car could not do this before the update.

I got the street and you will definitely notice a change Louie. I think you should be fine with it even if you get an SC and don't have the race.

Yeah basically right now you should feel your back end popping out during turns but after the backbone its basically really smooth when making the turn and the car really stays together.

The C-man speaks truth.

I'm quite pleased with my Street version.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago..still not here. there were some technical difficulties (not on ddm's side). Mine supposedly shipped on Monday, but the USPS sucks with tracking so I'm in limbo hoping its here by Friday so I can install this weekend when I'll have access to a lift.

I have an 07 NA and purchased the Race just in case I ever decide to add extra power. So I cannot speak for the street version but was thrilled with the race version. I installed it a week ago on friday morning..... Immediate results were felt in the rear end. The rear is rock solid leaving the front noisy so..... it was time to install the Eibach Prokit. Now the front and rear are Rock Solid Thanks DDM for a great upgrade at a great price..... Robert

Got my race version yesterday and put it on this morning. Simple install.

Only direction I did not follow was loosening the exhaust with a 15mm wrench\socket. I popped the rubber hangers at the muffler and let it rest on the hitch mount, had plenty of room. Used a wrench instead of socket on one bolt.

Once I finish the break-in mileage we will play...only I won't know what the stock fells like since it is gone (at least stored for the restoration in 20\30 years).

Just got my DDM race backbone brace installed this morning at Zoro Muffler Shop in Missassauga, Ontario. They supplied and installed my SOLO Perfomance HI-Flow CAT and Mach Shorty exhaust system in April of this year. It took Ray (who installed my SOLO system and is co-designer of the SOLO exhaust systems) about 20 minutes to install the BBB. When it came time to pay for the BBB installation, I was told that the installation was free. Now I am even more impressed with the SOLO Performance people. They are great and their products are great!!!!

With the race backbone brace installed, the GXP is so much more solid with a significant reduction is chasis twisting. Cornering performance has significantly improved also. I would definately recommend the backbone brace to any GXP or Redline owner, especially with the GMPP tune. Thanks DDM Works for providing a quality product at a great price. Who would have thought that a 3/8" piece of 6061-T6 aluminum plate could have such a positive affect on the performance of this car.
