Dyno results, DDM Custom Turbo System

Well, here it is -

93 octane gas
90 degree air temp

310whp @ 250 lbs torque @ 13 lbs boost

Notice that run #2 produced lower torque. That pull was done in 3rd gear - the other pulls were in 4th gear. The hot air and hot engine kept bringing the numbers down as all three pulls were 'back to back'.

Whadda ya think?

Nice Numbers Carl, I wonder why the 100lbft of torq decrease over the Stage III hahn setup. Although I was not able to get 13 lbs unless I ran 95 octane.

Very good power for pump gas.

I'm surprised that torque is so much lower than your whp output. Good numbers, though!

What sized turbo was used?

When we initially got Carl's car here the drivability of the car was less than ideal and after talking with Carl he had some specific ideas of what he wanted for the car. So when we set out to design the system we did not want the car to have the normal Jeckyl and Hyde turbo response and power band. So we went with the Borg Warner turbo and wanted the torque curve to be as flat as Kansas and still hit 300 wheel horsepower on 92 Octane pump gas. The power on his car is really smooth and it just keeps pulling towards redline which makes it really easy to control and have a good time with, just what he wanted

Nice job, Dave & Randy! Congratulations, Carl! Just shows that a turbo, done right, can be

an enjoyable street machine.

Now Carl, all you have to do is DRIVE IT!!

See you in Arkansas.

Tuning makes all the difference.

Awesome numbers Carl. I would guess the power is just one steady pull. Great job DDM.

Makes perfect sense. Nicely done.

Carl,
great numbers! you went from 243 to 310?? What exactly was changed? Did you scrap the hahn kit? Are you using a fuel regulator still?

madmods - there is no Hahn equipment left on my car!

This is a totally new system developed by DDM to cater to those of us who want a stable, dependable, no adjustment needed, no engine code, no lean spots and high HP system.

The Walbro pump delivers plenty of fuel to eliminate lean spots as you can see by the AFR.

The DDM intercooler is BIG...much bigger than the Hahn was.

The Borg Warner S-251 is a 500whp potential turbo that can spool as low as 2,200 rpm - I'm sure as a result of the unique fin design. I'm only using 34% of the turbo capacity (per my GReddy boost controller).

The exhaust is 3" from the header to the tailpipe with a Magnaflow at the rear.

AND -
The boys at DDM are going to send me a little 'sumpin - sumpin' to even make the system more - er - better.

I took her out yesterday and beat on her with several WOT runs from 2nd, 3rd & 4th gears - couldn't make it throw a code... except the flashing code from hitting the fuel cut-off @ 7,000 rpm!

Sounds like the boys are DDM did a good job with your set up. I love the power curve on your set up. I'm guessing you can smoke the tires all the way up to 4th?
