Randy, I'm FOR SURE interested in one now. Ebony with the Onstar cutout. I bought an AutoMeter Z series boost/vacuum mechanical gauge today. I hope it will work. Need some help here. Will it work? How and where can I hook it up? I didn't want a digital gauge, and didn't seem to find any other gauges I cared for. This is all black, full sweep, with a red bulb cover.
Unsure what the second gauge will be, so I didn't get it yet, but they were all in stock at Lane Automotive. Three other choices for a second gauge: air/fuel ratio, pyrometer for EGT, or oil or water temp' in full sweep mech', or short sweep electric gauges. More than 3, I guess.
Suggestions anyone?
If you're not comfortable installing the gauge yourself, just take your car to a performance shop and let them install it. It's better to let someone that knows what they are doing to install it right the first time instead of messing something up and causing a big headache. Unless you plan on running a bigger turbo or a large amount of boost, I would get the water temp gauge. The Exhaust Gas Temp gauge is more suited for those that are really modding their motors. Keeping track of the water temp is more important.
I ordered my black pod on monday and it will be here tomorow, cant wait.
