I know you guys are just standing around wondering what to do next..wonder if you could crank out a few more of those front shock struts..I saw "water bird's", and really like the thing. Critterman's is more along the lines of the color I'd like.

Some were saying they had a problem with the probeam fitting with the magna flow exhaust. Ray "The Wizard" at Zoro muffler installed my pro beam and made adjustments, it fit just fine and ended up with it clearing by almost an inch.
Haven't really tested it on any good curves yet except the exit ramps. Haven't noticed the push that developed before, not sure if that isn't because of the backbone. In the rain I noticed I have to watch when I get back on the gas, as I had the rear step out earlier than before, and had a pretty good drift going for a while.

Probeam exhaust pipe clearance on the Solstice Coupe
When I did a test fit for the Probeam on my coupe,I discovered the exhaust pipe bend just before the rear muffler interferes with it. I spoke to David and he suggested grinding down the part of the Probeam to clear the pipe, which I did. This solved the interference problem and the rest of the installation was pretty easy. I painted the probeam to match the backbone.
I believe this problem is unique to just the coupe version of the Solstice.

Yup - this isn't a bolt-on for a coupe. They might want to mention that on their site plus maybe offer a quick snip and spray for anyone ordering one for their coupe.

What changed? Is it because the shape of the trunk/gas tank changed?

It has nothing to do with the coupe. In late 08 MY and all of 09, they changed the bend location on the exhaust pipes. It also does not appear that the bend dimensions are consistant, as some wil clear by a little, and some don't come close to clearing. We are working on it....but its hard to hit a moving target.

Does that mean that there will be probems with fitting after market exhaust systems too?

No, the problem is with the exhaust pipe having a bend in a different location, they move the bend rearward about 3". The underbody/chassis is the same, so after market exhause should be OK.

Has the probeam changed? There are two pictures on the website.. one white "boxish" brace that I recall seeing previously.
In addition this is now a black, more "flat" brace with four brackets shown.
If I order one now.. what do I get? I'm asking since I autocross and the beam is only allowed in certain installation methods, and I believe that's the "white" version. Not sure if it's legal (BSP class) in my class with the "black" version.
Just want to stay on top of the ball here to know what I'm getting, and what's legal. I'm not concerned about the quality or effectiveness.. I know that's there, it's coming from DDM afterall!

...
Thanks.
The probeam is basically unchanged since it was introduced...the bracket shapes have changed a little, but thats about it. The two "versions" you see on the website are the same design, one is a top view 3D rendering originally used to show the product. The Black view is an actual photo of the bottom side of a production piece. From what our AutoX members have reported, the Probeam is legal as long as you don't use the 3 bolts that connect it to the diff crossmember, so just using the lower control arm points is legal.
