Is there a way of mounting the gauges down inside of the dash then? So that they are sticking out of the dash?
Autometer gauges are used a lot in the older truck market (69/72 Chevy trucks), and the better looking ones are the ones that were taken apart, and mounted behind the dash instead of looking like they were just pushed into the holes in the dash.
Not to be disrespectful, but was just wondering, because I'm not really a fan of the after market gauge look.

It's all personal preference. They are in the exact locations as stock, just not recessed. However, I know I can see mine better than the stock ones and I have received so many comments about how much people like them. So, go figure...
Well... it is definitely all personal preference... but just to illustrate what I'm talking about with the old trucks, here are a couple reference pictures.
First is an original style cluster.
Followed by a dash where it looks like they were just pushed in.
Then 2 pictures of a dash where they were taken apart and mounted inside the dash.
I just think that the autometer gauges would look real good if they were placed inside the dash.
If I didn't need my car for a daily driver... I'd take the dash apart to figure out how to do it myself.
