how will this interact with my GMPP tune or will a new tune be required?
Any real life feedback on turbo lag or lack there of? I'd be curious to know how the lag is in relation to a stock turbo.

Are there a set of installation instructions, can we see a copy, I'd like to know how much work I'm getting myself into in advance.
Also wondering, with the stock turbo removed, would it be any easier to replace the cat to a freer flow cat at the same time...it's been a while since I eyeballed all the workings on the side of the motor.
your definately going to want a new tune especially if you want the power this turbo can provide. its definately recommended but the should start up and fire with your current tune in there.
the spool is slower the the stock k04 as it is esentially a "bigger" turbo but personally i think the fact that its not as peaky as stock right away is a great facter which from having a cobalt makes it more fun to drive and keeps the tires on the ground a lot easier.
installation would be just like replacing a oem turbo charger with a few minor odds and ends. we will supply a feed line and one of the water lines as the turbo re uses one of the factory lines. other then that its straight forward and imho easy on the kappas.
as for as the cat goes....if your going to do one then i would do it when you swap the turbos. it can be done before or after the fact but the catpipe needs to be removed to pull out the turbo anway. in all honesty a high flow cat or catless would benefit you. having full bolt ons would benefit you aswell with this setup so its something i would look into.
