Bill, do you have dyno graphs to show HP increases? I'm at such a high density altitude I wonder if it would make a difference on my car.

Bill,

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me today. I can't wait to see how this IC gives me a boost on top of my BSR tune!

Sure thing. Click the pic to go to our site for a dyno comparison on an otherwise stock car.

The gains get even greater the more mods you have, for the more you press the stock intercooler with airflow and heat load, the worse it gets!

Bill sold me one of these back a couple of months ago and I have been very pleased. I haven't dyno'd my car and probably won't; but combined with the BSR PPC tune, these are an awesome pair.

Hay Dave, what should it cost to have one of these babies installed on our cars in the Toronto area?

Hard to say especially since i doubt any local shops worked on our cars, so it'll give them an excuse to charge more, i figure around $300. If you need help with the install just let me know, its really not that hard.

BLK GXP posted excellent step-by-step directions and photos on the GXP forum that I found to be very helpful.

New Intercooler - Solstice GXP Owners Forums

It is an easy job, but it takes time. $300 sounds reasonable.

P.S. Bill, can I trade in my $999 model for a $749? OUCH! Apparently it sucks to be in the front of the line?

At the rate people are ordering, not too long!
It's all contingent on order volume. Could last a couple more weeks if the initial order 'surge' flattens out a bit, as it most likely will.

It really is not bad at all. GM was nice enough to put all the fasteners in the open, and not use anything out of the realm of the average homeowner's toolbox.

As long as you have a helper to assist in removing / replacing the fascia, it's a slam dunk! You just don't want to try that part yourself, for it's very hard to manage the fascia with one person, and if it falls to the ground, it can be scratched. With two people, it's a breeze!

Well FINALLY installed my IC yesterday. I was skeptical if the IC was going to make a clear difference in cool weather (been only 50-60ish lately). However, I immediately noticed a quicker spool and stronger pull throughout the rpm band. I don't know what torque improvement it made by itself, but It felt like its stronger than when I switch from 91 octane to 95 octane (via Xylene).

I really thought the IC would only help when it was hot outside to help prevent heatsoak, which I think it will, but I did not really expect it to help spool up and power as much as it did. Bill did a great job of improving flow with this IC. I chose his due to this factor alone and am really glad I did. Combined with an aftermarket tune and catback exhaust, this Sky really motates! All I have left to do for my spirited daily driver (power wise) is a K&N filter and Hahn's recirculating valve. Just trying to figure out how to make it look stealth/stock as I do not want unwarranted attention.

BTW, I also modified the front grill area to allow fresh air to access the stock airbox easier. I simply drilled/dremeled holes in the grill (not as clean as I would want but OK unless you get within two feet) and cut out a 2"x4" notch in bumper support right in front of the airbox snorkel. I figure this will be better than pulling air from the engine bay and is probably worth a few hp at speed.

Also, does anyone know what kind of gains can I expect with the K&N stock box filter?
