Hi sam ..... SolWhat? answered your first question in the middle of the month:

In other words - if your vin is say 100023 ... then NO you do NOT have a first 1000 vechicle, just an earlier 2006 model production.

For example: My first Solstice - a 2006 - was built on Dec 5th and the VIN was 6Y106614.

Found a post on the VIN Number decoded:
Here is the vin decoded....

Oops, poor pick for an example, but close.

First 1000: 000001 thru 001000

Preproduction/test/mules: 100001 thru about 100750

Zero-zippers and early Canada: 100751 thru 101000

Regular production: 101001 and up

Gizmo and a couple of the other early statistitions may argue with me on this, and if so, I'll change my list to agree with them, I'm doing this from memory without doing any lookup.

In addition to the VIN info posted there is a silver logo on dash that would say "First 1000" assuming someone didn't remove it. The VIN 000001-001000 of 2006 model year is the best indicator.

Don't have the first 1000, but do have an 06 and love every minute of it when driving.

Hmm . . . it would be hard to remove . . . it appears to be molded into the dash . . .

Hello I have just purchased #621 of the 1st-1000 Solstices. I live in Canada and am starting to enjoy the convertible lifestyle now that the weather is co-operating!!
I think that this forum is great, people sharing their creative ideas and passion for the car itself.

LOL

Only 2600 miles. Thinking of selling again (3rd or 4th time). Then I go for a ride and change my mind........... Just might let it go this time.
