2006 solstice temp gage and air cond.

My wife has a first year solstice with 15000 miles and it has developed a problem that is intermittent. She will start out and the airconditioner will not work and the tempiture gage just shows bars across the display. We have taken it in but the dealer said there was no code and if it isn't doing it at that time they can not find the problem. Anyone else had this problem?

Have you made any changes to the car lately?

This "- - -" from the temp display makes me wonder if you have a short somewhere in the temp sensor chain, perhaps a loose connection or a short along the line.

Run a search with "temp sensor" and/or "wiring rubbing," I seem to recall _someone_ with a similar issue.

I am _not_ an expert, but this might give you a place to start looking.

Actually, I have an issue with the AC cutting in and out while driving. It doesn't matter if its really hot or not, it'll just stop. It's more apparent when I'm stopped but also happens when I'm driving on the x-way and I haven't tied it to anything like you have. Mines an '08 GXP with about 3.5k miles though. I haven't taken it in yet so no diagnoisis but it doesn't make sense to me. Sorry not much help but definately have my sympathy since mine is acting similarly.

The car is completly stock. My thinking is that it is a bad connection, wire rubbing, or maybe something computer related.

From the sound of it, electrical looks like the issue....check all of your harnesses...I had a loose pin connector in my ignition harness and it was making the car stutter and gasp when started. The dealership was able to find it somehow and it hasn't given me an issue since.
