For all the negatives here is a positive...

Over the past two weeks I have heard nothing but love for the Solstice from
my co-workers.
Lord, I am not able to get my work done. Which means it is delaying me from my drive time

Back in November I only told a few people I had ordered the car. It has been really amazing walking thru the Lab and being stopped by people who say...
Hey, "Aren't you the girl who owns that black solstick or sunstick or solice."
I just smile and give them the correct name.
Then we have a five to TEN(!) minute conversation about when I first saw the car and what it is like to drive. Then they talk about how beautiful she is.

I think I am going to end up meeting every single person on every shift because of this bella bambino.

I get more attention than people who just had a real baby or people who could be discovering a cure for some god awful disease!!

Isn't it amazing that people can't seem to get the name right?

It's not like it's made up word. The Solstice happens twice
a year and people are like... What??? I never heard of it. Duh!!!

Exactly! I start to ramble on about the sun passing and two points on the ecliptic and blah, blah, blah...
Then, I say never mind...
You want to know how fast she goes??? Oh..okay...blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....

Sometimes the attention one gets is a little embarrassing. I parked my Solstice away from the crowd one day at the supermarket. When I returned to the roadster I discovered a car circling mine. As I got closer the friendly soul inside asked if it were mine, which of course prompted a conversation. They thought is was a beauty ... of course Curlylew66 I agree, it is a beautiful baby, but I always make a point to tell them how well this ride handles.

Thats one of the benefits of buying beautiful sports cars over more mundane rational cars...

Have fun in life and enjoy the top down ride.

It's really cool, isn't it? I was kinda nervous about all the attention in the beginning, but now i love it-i love the chance to talk about the Solstice & especially to other car enthusiasts. At work, 'Mysty' is parked in our lot in front of our building (the only other car there is my hub's Canyon) so we get people wandering in all the time asking "is that your Solstice out there"? And they want to know everything. I considered charging for rides (kidding)

The attention is nice but as others have posted in the past, it is kind of embarrassing because she looks like a 40000$ car (IMHO) and so, as a student it can LOOK kind of weird driving a nice car, but if they took the time to look her up, they would see she is affordable if you did things correctly,
but as a guy who has always had mundane vehicles it is kind of cool having almost everyone stare at me as I drive down the road. thank goodness they are hard to find or the solstice would turn into, "oh yeah I see those all of the time, 8 people on my block own one!"
