.I will not give out the e-mail format, nor should anyone else who has that information.
I completely agree. It is ment to be private, and I wouldent appreciate if I gave somebody my email, and they told the rest of the world. (Well... if I was famous.)
Should we hammer them with request, in form letter fashion, kinda like bugging a state rep for action????
Not a bad idea, but each person should submit their own comment in their wn words. 1. Its more effective 2. Some email programs can root out cooki-cutter response and treat it like spam. 3. I know they read submissions because I told them about the incident with the std man trans costing additional and they posted their response along with mine.

Oh, man. What is the deal with the chicks in their skivvies running around with fans? If Mazda needs chicks to make their car apealing, Pontiac has got it made. Look at the suits in the forground eating it up too!

So you don't like the Page Ranking department's job, didn't Solstice appear in SI.com?
What I don't get is, the SKY had a official kinda launch at NAIAS where the exec jumped into it from the second floor balcony. The miata has video presentations out, and it's got flash animations on their website. What is pontiac doing, nada, come on pontiac, pony up

I don't see what the big deal is about someone's email address. Most mail servers will have aliases of a persons email address. ie Bob lutz = blutz, bob.lutz, robert_lutz and so on. It is kind of up to the mail admin to how many aliases a person has.
Also doing a DNS lookup for mail servers for gm.com you get two replies. After connecting to one and reading the banner it said it was sendmail GM Secure.
All using public information you could probably send an email to either rlutz@gm.com or some variation of rlutz blutz bob.lutz.

There's a difference in trust when you work with people who expect you to keep certain information (contact information as well as program information) private, and that which can be found out publicly.
Many (a few?) of us on this board have sat in, drove, tested, etc. the Solstice and other vehicles which aren't out for public display at this time. Having contact information is no different than not saying everything one knows about a car. If you find information out publicly, then that's great... but having someone hand it over is not acceptable.
I'm glad you were resourceful and found something, there's nothing wrong with that at all.
Sorry guys i didnt mean to start a big arguement over this. I agree with all posts. I mean yes it is no big deal because you can guess the general veriations of the email addy, but at the same time i guess its different when someone figures that out instead of being told by a coworker. So i want to end the arguements
I have a feeling Bob and GM already knows our desire to see a Solstice top already. They do monitor this site regularly, and I doubt they could have missed all the posts speculating about the top.

If they do not realize its more than a curious desire and a hope to see it by now, then they are not reading too well! We have had some heated comments about our distain for not having a top available to view!
Contacting them is always a good idea too. The more people that tell them something, the more likely they will work to accomodate those people. However, they probably have a good reason for not showing it at this point too. If its not ready to be seen, they are not going to show it off, and it may not be ready in a production form yet.

Yea thats a good point. lol maybe we should just all tell them that we arent gonna buy one if we dont see it soon. lol
That is assuming it was a production spec top. We have pictures of developmental cars with tops on them, from the england test mules as well as some cars spotted around Deleware and Michigan. Either way, I guess we had no body in the area able to go. If the proving grounds were in my neck of the woods I would have went over and checked it out. However, the 6 hour drive just didn't seem worth it.

That car was the red one which was seen around the proving grounds before, but I don't recall anyone seeing a red one prior to any of the non-saleable builds. I'm can't speak to the timeline of this program, so I'm not sure if the build in February was a non-saleable or saleable build, but at this point it should be saleable if production starts in May.
I didn't have the chance to get back there until Saturday, and it being across the state with no assurance it was going to be visable I didn't take the drive over. There are many on the board who live closer than I, but that doesn't mean they have to go over there either. There will be more chances for pictures I'm sure... weather will be nicer here in Michigan and I'm sure there are lots of folks just waiting for an excuse to get one of them out on the roads to "test" something. We (the forum group) just need to keep an eye out and have quick reflexes when one goes flying by the other way down the road. Always seems to be the case... I never come up on any of the new vehicles, they are always on the other side of the highway it seems!
