Not my GXP but I got busted with 3 tickets with My PTCruiser yesterday, one for no front plate, one for tinted windows, and a clear cover over my rear plate. I don't have a front plate on my GXP either, I think it makes the car look ugly, I guess its only a matter of time before I get bustted with my sol also.........anyone know about something I heard called a Hidden front plate? this sucks living in IL................
Location: In the land of clunk, grind, and leak: Getrag hell!
Hey Gary, now that stinks, but at least with a GXP you can go with the underneath mounted retractable plate-hopefully one of the GXP owners that has it will jump in here with a link!

2009 Solstice GXP Coupe - Wicked - 000406, Bought off the lot June 2, 2009. (wife's)
I got a ticket last year, so I put it on the dash-no problem since.
I research NJ law(title 39), it does not expressly forbid being on dash, and I can remove it for shows!!!

during a collison, that metal plate on the dash could take flight &,,, well, the dash is sorta level with one's head. So, the ole plate on the front of the car doesn't seem so bad now. The less potential projectiles in the cabin, the better.
Hey Gary, that sucks! I guess it's only a matter of time before they get me. I have had literally dozens of cops look at me as I go by, but have not yet been stopped. I guess when they do, I'll break down and buy that hidden mount.

I got a warning last year for no plate, but I still haven't put it on. I recall Bones saying something about a powered retractable mount being released this year by the same company.

WOW THATS WHAT I WOULD CALL A BAD DAY!!!I GOT PULLED OVER FOR TINTED WINDOWS ONCE AND I TOLD THE COP I JUST GOT ONE FOR THAT A WEEK AGO.... AND HE SAID.... SOOOOOO!! HE MADE ME PULL IT OFF RIGHT THERE TO AVOID A TICKET!! WHAT A NICE GUY HE WAS!!
LAPD have more important things to worry about. I drove around 2 years with no tags at all, limo tint, and now no tag in the front and the one in rear has no experation decals. This is what i get when i get pulled over for doing somthing retarder in the car, he would start nagging to me about all the things he can right me up for then we'll settle with a fix it ticket. Most cops just feel the need to right you up for something unless it was super major. I'll take a fixit before a wreckless any day.

Gives them something to write you up for. I had my Solstice 4 days, got pulled over for speeding. Got a no front plate ticket. Expensive as it was ($105 if I remember correctly), I'd rather that than the speeding ticket .

The economy is hurting. We are in a recession. Look for cops to find ANY sourse of revenue they can.
Not that it will be more than a drop in any city or county's budget. But when the economy tanks, you can be sure the local Constabulatory is read the riot act to get out there and WRITE WRITE WRITE dem tickets.
State and local law enforcement has been VERY aggressive over the past 2 months. It is only anecdotal, but I've seen a huge increase in people pulled over and getting tickets form CHP, police, Sherrif, you name it. I'm sure even Dogcatchers are out fully in force, Kevlar helmets, radar-guided nets, butt seeking beacons...
It is a bad time right now to invited a chance greeting with Officer Bob either with unlawful mods or bad driving. For the next few months at least, I would advise everybody to play within the rules.

I drive 42 miles to work everyday, and about 35 of that is highway driving, and there is not a single morning I drive on this stretch where there isn't at least 2 vehicles pulled over, and one is always a tanker or semi truck. They are looking for anything... ANYTHING. I will not go 5 MPH over the speed limit anymore simply out of fear of getting a ticket.
