Aside from winter storage I've driven mine daily since Jan 2007 and still lovin every day of it. Longest comute was 60 minutes each way when I was in the bay area and was as comfortable as the 10 minute comute I have now. Definate gas saver over my 94 suburban I drive for the winter.

As long as you dont need the trunk space, I dont think its a big deal. I commute in mine every day. I enjoy it so much it makes me look forward to driving to work in the morning. It is very comfortable. If my wife didnt have a minivan for the times we need more space, I might not enjoy it quite so much, though.
I went from the Jeep in my sig to the Solstice and I love it. I drive mine year round in Indiana, except in the snow. I do have other vehicles for hauling stuff, but for a daily drive the Solstice is great. You will love the extra gas money. This is the longest I have kept a vehicle in a while - just hard to beat the combo of power, MPG, and open top. Also, my insurance actually dropped when I bought this car - I would love to trade, but I can't find a reason to sell mine.
In addition to the daily drove, I have made three road trips of more than 2000 miles each in the Solstice.

if you have a lot of stop&go, the clutch will get tiresome.
But that is true with any stick...

I also drive mine every day, rain, snow, and sun.
We don't get a lot of snow here in Texas (except for this year), but I even drove it then.
Too much fun to let sit around and grow old (me and the Sol).
Daily driver, short commute which is great.. If your commute is mostly traffic get the auto. If 40/65 mph roads get it! I have 6 different ways to go to work on back country type roads and love it.. Storage a problem ocassionally. You'll look forward to the commute if your 32 miles are higher speed pavement. Its great on the thruway.

I use mine for my commute daily. 45 miles each way and love it. Before I didn't have much to look forward to in going to work, but the car is so much fun to drive I actually kinda look forward to at least that part of the day. Gas is okay, but I drove a Sunfire before so it's more expensive. If you are concerned about gas and stop and go traffic I would get the automatic GXP. It gets better gas mileage then the NA.

Daily driver here. Works great in any weather unless there is more than 4" of snow on the ground. My only words of advice are to get winter tires if you plan on driving in the snow. Once changing tires, the car handles better than our fusion in the winter.

In South Florida, 10 mile commute on local roads, for two 1/2 years. The drive is the best part of my work day! For a little roadster, this car can handle just about anything you can throw at it, and do so ably and comfortably.
Stick or nothing.
I don't believe in auto's LOL except for our van.
The truck is a stick and I commute in it now.
Just wondering how the sol would be. Sounds great.
Mine is a daily driver, and the only problems I have while commuting are folks hanging out in my blind spot as they check out the car.
