On the leading edges of the trunk (both sides), directly below the back window (when the top is up), there is a part of the roof that is designed like a pocket. Inside this "pocket" are about 5 foam cubes glued in place. My dealer started to take these out, stating that they were shipping foam pieces, but I made him leave them in. It turns out that these keep the "pocket" opened so that water drains out properly through the truck. Without these, water will enter the trunk.
Don't let your dealers remove these foam cubes.

Thanks, Great Catch, my dealer wanted to remove them yesterday because they fell off. He said they are only for shipping. I keep them because they were at one time glued on, so I don't think it was for shipping only.
I wondered too what those were for. Mental note to self, don't put anything in those "pockets".
Had no idea what they were for, but I figured they were there for a reason so I've been diligently replacing them when they roll around like yahtzee dice!
When the water runs off your hood, it falls into the crack between where the boot opens up and the top ends. Then you can see where it drains into a rubber tube on both sides. Have a good look. go exploring! Haven't you ever wondered where the water goes?
Have a look at the a-pillar, too. Right where the top locks into the corner of the windshield. Inside those little suction-cup looking things. Yup, water drains from there, too.
theory is, with a convertible it's impossible to get a really good seal. So the engineers come up with clever ways of syphoning off the water that gets by.

Aggressive, polished, cloth, power, and convenience. LSD, A/B, A/C, Monsoon, and MP3.
When I have time, I'm going to cut up a larger single piece of foam per pocket. As long as the drain holes that you cut are as big, the foam doesn't get moldy, and the piece of foam is the same width, I don't see why that wouldn't work. I think It would look much cleaner and you wouldn't have to keep adjusting the individual pieces.
you need to pay a bit more attention to the dates in posts.
Tops are no longer shipped with the foam blocks. There was an update and they are now shipping with an extruded plastic piece which holds the pockets open.
This was a running change made last summer!
