Door lock actuator on it's way out?

So my driver's side door lock actuator goes up/down with full force the first time I press the lock/unlock button.. if I do it again it kinda stops working. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not heard of a door lock failing. Let us know what you find please.

Actually quite common on GM cars that use the same actuator although I haven't heard of a real issue with Kappas. There are places that rebuild the door locks and replace the small motor that drives the actuator or you can buy a new lock for $100. There was a member here that had a similar issue with his locks in 2012 but he never posted what the resolve was.

This listing is just an example and I have NO idea who this guy is or if he is a reliable seller.

Before buying something like this, is there anyway a person could first check if it's an electrical issue?

I have this too...passenger side does not work anymore (makes a click sound but no lock-ey/unlock-ey), driver's side works about 50% of the time.

I believe driver side part # is 20826657, can't confirm.. but the RH side is 20826658.

It looks as if though the door lock and actuator is seperate from the rod and the actual door lock tumbler, so I don't believe there is a need to have anything re-keyed as I saw in a previous post (Dead passeger door lock actuator...)

Maybe someone here can confirm these parts numbers?

Yes, that appears to be the case.

Looks pretty straightforward, replace the actuator and hook up the rods to the locking cylinder and the lock rod, and there is one other rod for something else. Has anyone else on here done the repair and is there anything I should know?
