Fender Cameras

I just had a revelation while looking at the solstice in the garage...

Remember the Solstice with the turn signals in the little vents on the side of the car that Norm made deeper for that guy?

Well what I am thinking is get a double din dvd stereo that this will work with and then adding a camera to each of those vents in the deeper custom fenders norm made and wiring it so that when you turn your blinker on, they would automatically turn on like on a motorhome and display on your dvd player?

Anyone think this is a cool idea? You could also have the rear bumper camera turn on when put in reverse..

I think it would be neat.. what are your opinions.

I'd go for it especially if I could then remove the rearview, passenger and driver side mirrors.

It wouldn't blink on and off if you caught the 'turn on' signal before it hit the flashers. The thing that makes them blink is the flasher itself. The signal going to the flasher is still constant. You'd have to set up a pretty good relay system so that nothing goes up in flames or anything bad. you'd also have to get a couple of video switcher and video junction boxes. Would be pretty spendy, but definitely doable.

I'd rather create a narrow button strip for the buttons currently on the mirror, and yank that space wasting bad boy out of my view field, install a rear facing color camera in the base of the XM-sat shark fin antenna, and put the screen on the dash down low out of the windshield viewing field. (I'm 6'2" tall, so I sit up well in the car).

Then add wide angle viewing mode and infrared for night work and I think you have something.
