Find a replacement latch

Hello, I just got a 2007 Solstice this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew how or where to get a replacement top latch for the manually releasing the cloth top. There is one on the driver side and passenger side. You can see it when the top is down. This one has the corner broke off and would like to order a silver one. Thanks for any help. Oh its the driver side i'm looking for

I think what the OP is describing are the flaps on the tulip panel.

Why do people post looking for parts when they haven't bothered calling their local dealer?

probably cause they know they are going to get ripped off at the dealer. However, I would have at least done a search and found the proper name name first.

No, parts pricing is standard and many parts are reasonable. At least that way you have a starting point. I've seen people that didn't bother doing that spending double what the dealer wants for a part, on Ebay. Negotiating from a position of ignorance is never a good idea.

I wish parts in Canada were as reasonable. They can be up to double the US prices, ironic when many of them were made here and shipped South. I buy anything major from the US.

Hmm, I thought the dealer price was always higher. Maybe I was thinking about their labor rate. seems like everytime I needed something done and went to the dealer thinking it was covered under warranty and found it wasn't, I could go to autozone or hi-lo and get it for a 3rd of what they quoted. not including labor. I know they wanted 275 for the compressor on the hyundai and I got it for about 90 at AZ.

For body and trim parts there generally IS no after market. On things like you mention, you can go after market and save money - but watch the quality. 'Saving' $100 on an alternator by buying a Chinese knock off that fails or a rebuilt that konks out and has to be replaced twice (the rebuilders often screw them up and all you get back is a replacement part that may or may not be any better than the first one, no compensation for shop time wasted) and you'll at lkeast seriously consider going OEM on some stuff.

Unless the little bits (latches etc.) are common to enough cars that an after market version is warranted, you'll be out of luck on that stuff.

In any case, my point stands - until you know the factory price, you have no way of comparing what the after market is asking. It may be reasonable or it may be more expensive than the dealer. For dealers, I've found Crate Engines to be very responsive and much less expensive on shipping than others that advertise lowball prices and then slam you on shipping to make it up.
