What you don't realize is that the dealer replacing the seat won't solve your problem as you see from JPM's photo, the seat is scupted out and the leather will stretch.
The cup holder, if the passenger one, you can pull out on it when it is open to fix the allignment issue.
Deepbluegxp,
Actually, I did realize that. That is why I have already talked with JPM about adding doing the other fix. But, I wanted to give the dealer a chance first. If it doesn't fix it, I am hoping they will pay for the fix. Also, I mentioned to them my concern about it just being the same thing, and they were willing to try to build it up if it is indeed the same.
On the cupholder, thanks for the info. If they don't get to it, I will fix it myself. My only real point in the post is that the dealer was more than willing to try to help. This seem rare concerning the seat issue.

I'm glad they are receptive to your needs. There aren't many dealers like that out there. Good Luck with your fixes.

After repeatedly addressing the (classic) seat sag issue myself, I see that JMS method goes after the concave driver's seat profile. After feeling like I was sitting in a bathtub I cut out a 13" wide strip of dense 1/4" foam and made two 3 folds at 15" intervals and installed it under the seat foam. I know the new seat foam and 1/4" foam will again compress, but it's any easy fix. Sitten' "proud" now!!!!

OK, I took apart my driver's seat in order to do this fix, and didn't find any curve.
So, did they fix this issue by 2009 (I have a Coupe) (and I don't have to do anything), or has mine not sagged yet (though, I was pretty sure the sag was in the cover, not the foam). Or, am I blind?
Thanks
Matt

I talked to Joe at JPM about this and GM upgraded the seats in 08. I was thinking of heated seats and wanted to get the foam upgraded while I had it apart. Turns out Joe has a memory foam upgrade that can be done but requires you to send him you seat foam

Interesting thread as I consider going from cloth to Leather
I don't know if the leather seat covers for the GXP are better than the ones for the NA, but the Leather for the NA is not a good quality at all. I have replaced the leather on my drivers seat already and if I have to do it again I will use some other custom leather covers.
What happened to the covers BuzzardT that you had to replace them?

About a month ago I converted from Cloth to Leather. Passenger seat looks fine, but almost immediately the drivers seat began to sag. For a while I was wondering about the quality of the leather seats I bought, but the Passenger seat continued to look fine. Then I remembered this thread.
Today I bought a piece of regular foam - the kind you put on top of a mattress. Cut a piec to size and glued it to the existing drivers side foam seat. While there, I noticed a crack in the door side bolster that I hadn't noticed when I put leather on a month ago. I bet it was there, just didnt see it. Well I had some spray on glue so I filled the crack and taped it shut for 30 mins. Added 1/2 " or so of foam to the seat bottom and clipped the edges at a bevel. Slammed the leather seat back on and voila - looks like a dream.
In other words, I basically followed this thread, but took a slightly easier path in execution. Took me 1 1/2 hrs and it looks great. Pics don't do it justice, as the seat looks more wrinkled than it really is. This is before I took a moment to press the velcro back to its home position.
Thanks JPM for taking the time to show us all how.
